Note that Textco does not continue to support updates beyound 2.0.26 for Gene Constrcution Kit 2. This program has been superceded by Gene Construction Kit 2.5.

GCK2 is 2.0.26

The update available on this page enables you to update any version of Gene Construction Kit 2.0.x starting with version 2.0.9 to the most recent version of the application. Versions of GCK2 prior to 2.0.9 cannot be updated using this page. Please contact Textco directly to obtain an update of any version of GCK2 to version 2.0.9 or later. Once you have at least version 2.0.9, you can always get the latest version of GCK 2.0 for free from this page. A list of changes made in each version is available.

How to Update Your Current (2.0.9 or later) Application:

GCK2 v2.0.26 for Macintosh

1. Locate your GCK2 program folder rename your current version of GCK2 --> GCK2-old.

2. If not already unstuffed, unstuff the '.sea' archive to extract the new Gene Construction Kit 2 application.

3. Place the new version of the application into your current GCK2 folder.

4. Once you have verified that the new version works, you can dispose of your old version.

GCK2 v2.0.26 for Windows

1. Locate your GCK2 program folder and rename the following:

GCK2.exe --> GCK2-old.exe
Gck2.rsr --> Gck2-old.rsr
asintppc.dll --> asintppc-old.dll

2. Unzip the '.zip' archive of the new Gene Construction Kit 2 application to produce three files (unzip the archive using Winzip or Stuffit Expander):

GCK2.exe
GCK2.RSR
and asintppc.dll

3. Place the new version of these files into your current GCK2 Program folder.

4. Once you have verified that the new version works, you can dispose of the three older files.
