Note that Gene Inspector 1.5 is no longer being updated, but you can obtain the most recent version here. The newer Gene Inspector 1.6 runs native under OS X 10.2.x and is the currently supported version of this software. Gene Inspector 1.5.x is being maintained for our customers still running OS 9, but we do not plan on making any changes to the code.

The Current version of Gene Inspector is 1.5.11

The update available on this page enables you to update any version of Gene Inspector 1.5 starting with version 1.5.0 to the most recent version of the application. Versions of GI prior to 1.5.0 cannot be updated using this page. Please contact Textco directly to obtain an update of any version of GI to version 1.5.0 or later. Once you have at least version 1.5.0, you can always get the latest version for free from this page. A list of changes made in each version is available. Note that version 1.5.8 or higher requres a PowerPC based Macintosh - available since the PowerMac 6100.

How to Update Your Current (1.5.0 or later) Application:

GI v1.5.11 for Macintosh

1. Rename your current version of GI 1.5 (GI 1.5-old is a good choice)

2. Download the most recent version of GI 1.5 by clicking here

3. Place the new version into your current GI 1.5 folder

4. Once you have verified that the new version works, you can dispose of your old version
