| Note that Textco does not wait to accumulate bugs for months before releasing a new version of the product, as is sometimes the case with other vendors. Because of this, we have more releases of our software in a shorter time period. New releases are made as problems are fixed and just reflect our desire to get the best software to you as soon as we can. More frequent releases with only a few bug fixes results in larger numbers of releases but a much shorter waiting time for you to get the latest version we have to offer. Note that since GCK2.5 is released, GCK2.0 is no longer being maintained and updated, but you can obtain the most recent version here. Gene Inspector 1.5 is being maintained for our Mac OS 9 Customers but is also not being updated. You can get the most recent version of GI 1.5 here. |

The update available on this page enables you to update any version of Gene Construction Kit 2.5 starting with version 2.5.0 to the most recent version of the application. A list of changes made in each version is available.
How to Update Your Current GCK:

| 1. Locate your GCK2.5 program folder rename your current version of GCK2.5 --> GCK2.5-old.
2. If not already unstuffed, unstuff the '.sit' archive to extract the new Gene Construction Kit 2.5 application.
3. Place the new version of the application into your current GCK2.5 folder.
4. Once you have verified that the new version works, you can dispose of your old version.

1. Locate your GCK2.5 program folder and rename the following:
- GCK25.exe --> GCK25-old.exe
- Gck25.rsr --> Gck25-old.rsr
- asintppc.dll --> asintppc-old.dll
2. Unzip the '.zip' archive of the new Gene Construction Kit 2.5 application to produce three files (unzip the archive using Winzip or Stuffit Expander):
- GCK25.exe
- GCK25.RSR
- and asintppc.dll
3. Place the new version of these files into your current GCK25 Program folder.
4. Once you have verified that the new version works, you can dispose of the three older files.

| The update available on this page enables you to update any version of Gene Inspector 1.6 starting with version 1.6.0 to the most recent version of the application. Versions of GI prior to 1.6.0 cannot be updated using this page. A list of changes made in each version is available.
How to Update Your Current GI:

| 1. Rename your current version of GI 1.6 (GI 1.6-old is a good choice)
2. Download the most recent version of GI 1.6 by clicking here
3. Place the new version into your current GI 1.6 folder
4. Once you have verified that the new version works, you can dispose of your old version

1. Locate your GI program folder (C:\Program Files\Textco Biosoftware, Inc.\Gene Inspector\) and rename the following:
- Gene Inspector.exe --> Gene Inspector-old.exe
- Gene Inspector.rsr --> Gene Inspector-old.rsr
2. Unzip the '.zip' archive of the new Gene Inspector application to produce four items (unzip the archive using Winzip or Stuffit Expander):
- Gene Inspector.exe
- Gene Inspector.RSR
- GI-WinUpdate_ReadMe.rtf
- Standard Tables folder
3. Follow the instructions in the ReadMe file to update your programs and tables to the most recent version.
4. Once you have verified that the new version works, you can dispose of the two older appplication files.
