1. Save and close all open GCK files and quit the GCK application.

2. Click on the link to download the new Gene Construction Kit 3 'dmg' file.

3. If not mounted automatically, double-click on the downloaded file to mount the disc image.

4. Within the mounted disc image, choose 'Edit --> Select All', to highlight all files and folders, and drag the entire set of updated files into your GCK3 program folder on your hard disc. Note: if you placed any of your own files in the corresponding folders on your hard disk, make copies of them before replacing them.

5. Choose 'Replace all' when prompted with the "an item named ... already exists in this location" warning message to overwrite your current files with these updated ones.

6. Launch the updated GCK program and verify the version by selecting 'About Gene Construction Kit' from the Gene Construction Kit menu.

1. Save and close all open GCK files and quit the GCK application.

2. If you saved any personal files into the main GCK program folder (C:\Program Files\Textco Biosoftware, Inc.\Gene Construction Kit\), move them to another location on your hard drive - or make copies before continuing to step 3.

3. Click on the link to download the new Gene Construction Kit 3 installer.

4. Unzip the '.zip' archive of the new Gene Construction Kit 3 installer to produce two files (unzip the archive using Winzip or 7-Zip):

• Setup.exe
• Gene Construction Kit.rsr

5. Double-click on the 'Setup.exe' file to launch the new installer. Choose 'OK' and 'Yes' at the prompts to install into the default locations - updating your current version.

6. Launch the updated GCK program and verify the version by selecting 'About Gene Construction Kit' from the 'Help' menu.

2. Click on the link to download the new Gene Inspector 1.6 'dmg' file.

3. If not mounted automatically, double-click on the downloaded file to mount the disc image.

4. Within the mounted disc image, choose 'Edit --> Select All', to highlight all files and folders, and drag the entire set of updated files into your GI16 program folder on your hard disc. Note: if you placed any of your own files in the corresponding folders on your hard disk, make copies of them before replacing them.
